The frying pans are an indispensable utensil in your kitchen since with them you make hundreds of recipes. Meats, vegetables, rice, eggs and tortillas, fish, pancakes … are used for almost anything.
It must also be recognized that we do not usually treat them very well: we burn and scrape them, we keep them stacked, we hit them and put them in the dishwasher.
Precisely because of the treatment we give them, it is necessary to renew them from time to time. And then you face hundreds of different makes and models, making choosing the right ones difficult. In addition, many pans have very affordable prices but they last very little.
n We believe that it is very important to invest in a quality frying pan that lasts many years , but without leaving you a fortune that we are not chefs either.

If there is one thing we do at Rechupete recipes it is spending pans so we have experience 😉 (even one of the recommended sets is the one we use right now at home).

Best affordable frying pan sets (comparative)
If you are looking for a quick answer, I leave you a comparison of the pans with a good quality / price ratio:
What is the best set of pans?
#one. BRA Efficient3 pans of 20, 24 and 28 cm
These are the pans that I have right now at home. I have used them almost daily for 2 years and the food still doesn’t stick. Of course, you have to pamper them a little: no aggressive scouring pads, do not put them under cold water when they are still hot and do not scratch them with the utensils.
They are a bit heavy, especially the largest but still perfectly manageable on a daily basis. They take a little longer to heat up because they are thicker than other frying pans but once they are hot they take a while and you can finish some dishes with the fire off. I can also put them in the dishwasher without praying that they will not spoil.
The price is unbeatable for the quality they offer, I recommend them 100%.
Advantage
- Suitable for all types of cookers, including induction.
- Slightly larger sizes, which come in handy if you cook for more than one.
- Dishwasher safe.
- Easy internal and external cleaning thanks to the non-stick.
Disadvantages
- They are a little heavy.
- If you have small drawers or cabinets, they may not fit in a stack.
- When you take them out of the dishwasher, be careful because the handle drips water.
- Cast aluminum with a thickness of 6 mm; and non-stick coating of the quality three-layer Teflon platinum plus without pfoa
- Eco + technology: 100% pfoa free, thus safeguarding the environment and eliminating any possible harmful effect of said element for the human being or the planet
- Uniform efficiency diffuser bottom (save energy system)
- Ergonomic and stackable orange handle
- 20 cm frying pan-Base diameter: 130mm / 24 cm Frying pan-Base diameter: 165 mm. / 28 cm frying pan-Base diameter: 195 mm

#2. BRA Premiere3 pans of 18, 22 and 26 cm
Another set of the BRA brand, the quality of the Premiere models is a little lower than that of the Efficient line but they are still very good. I like them because the handle does not heat up, nothing sticks and they are quite resistant. I prefer them a little bigger because I cook a lot of food but surely the sizes of 18, 22 and 26 cm are more practical if you are only 2 at home.
This set includes silicone tablecloths that serve to protect the pans when stacked and also the table and counter if they are hot. They are also magnetized so that when you lift the pan they stick, the truth is that it is very practical.
Advantage
- Suitable for all types of cookers, including induction.
- Non-stick coating of the highest three-layer quality.
- Includes two magnetized trivets to stack and protect surfaces.
Disadvantages
- They are slightly smaller, although this is only a disadvantage if you cook a lot.
- This lot contains 3 cast aluminum Première Bra pans (18, 22 and 26 cm)
- High-quality cast aluminum
- Suitable for all types of cookers, including induction
- Top quality non-stick coating three-layer Teflon Classic without PFOA
- Uniform diffuser bottom for maximum efficiency; Save Energy System

#3. Tefal Aroma3 pans of 22, 24 and 26 cm
Of all the options we recommend, this is the most expensive. But for good reason, the nonstick has an extra titanium that greatly extends the life of these pans. Pay off paying the extra price if you’re going to use your pans to cook at least a couple of times every day.
When I have tried them at friends’ houses, I really liked that they are higher than the average. Thus they are more versatile because you can prepare small stews with them, broth rice dishes … and they are also very comfortable for making thick omelets.
Advantage
- Suitable for all types of kitchens: induction, gas, electric plate and ceramic hob.
- Non-stick coating with titanium particles that lasts longer.
- It has a central point that changes color when it reaches 180ºC, it is practical if you find it difficult to distinguish when the pan has “sufficient temperature”.
Disadvantages
- They are more expensive. It is true that they last longer but it only compensates if you are going to use them intensively.
- There is not much difference in size between the three (only 2 cm).
- Set of 3 pans of 22, 24, and 26 cm in diameter on the outer edge and 6 cm in height (14.5, 16.5 and 18.5 cm in diameter at the base respectively)
- Cast aluminum frying pan with non-stick for easy cleaning and a thick base that offer optimal heat retention for tender and tasty results
- Non-stick coating with extra thick topcoat with titanium particles, specially designed pour spouts for serving and an auxiliary handle for added comfort
- Compatible with all cookers: induction, gas, electric plate and ceramic hob; dishwasher safe
- Thermospot: the central point helps control the temperature, changes color when the pan reaches 180ºC, optimal for cooking most dishes

#4. Monix MB3 pans of 18, 22 and 26 cm
The Monix set is the cheapest option out of 4. The quality is not as good and they scratch easily … but if you are not going to give them much use they are more than enough and it is not worth investing more. I think they are a good option for second homes, students or if you have just become independent and are setting up a whole kitchen from scratch (somewhere you have to save money).
Sometimes they are on sale and the price goes down even more.
Advantage
- They are very cheap.
- Non-stick without PFOA.
- Suitable for all types of cookers, including induction cookers.
Disadvantages
- The small one (18cm) is a little scarce for my taste. Although it is practical if you cook just for yourself.
- If you don’t take good care of them they will scratch easily. Although it says “dishwasher safe” I would not put them.
- Inducing bottom diameters. Small frying pan: 12 cm / medium frying pan: 15 cm / large frying pan: 18 cm
- Recommended by Martin Berasategui, one of the best chefs in the world with 8 Michelin stars and with more than 40 years of experience and innovation in cooking
- Two-layer non-stick coating without PFOA
- Handle made of anti-burn bakelite.

Buying tips
Here I have given you 4 options that seem very good to me but the truth is that the models that are in the stores change continuously. If you are going to buy any other frying pan, what should you consider?
- Frequency of use: If you are going to use your pans every day, it is better to invest a little more money and look for a model with a good non-stick coating. However, if you want them to fry some Easter eggs in bouquets, it is clear that you can save on this aspect.
- How many kitchens for? It is clear that cooking for a family of 4 is not the same as cooking for yourself, if there are many of you at home, an 18 cm frying pan will do you little good. Find pan sets that are the sizes you need, whether it’s because you cook for many or just for yourself.
- The type of kitchen you have: almost all frying pans on the market are already valid for induction cookers, ceramic and gas cookers. However, do not trust yourself, even I have made the mistake of buying without looking at the label and ending up with a frying pan that I cannot use in induction.
- The manufacturing material: there are Teflon pans, cast aluminum, wrought iron, copper … If you are very cook, you will surely have a preference, but the truth is that for most people it is not so important . They all work well.
- The budget: Teflon pans are the cheapest, but they also deteriorate faster. On the other hand, it is not worth investing a fortune if you are going to use them very little or your budget is very tight. At Rechupete recipes we believe that it is very important to invest in quality pans that last many years (and the best savings are to take good care of them), but the final decision is yours alone since nobody knows your needs better than you.
- The Handle – Pans with removable handles are easier to clean, stack better in tight spaces and typically allow us to put them in the oven. Evaluate if it is something you may need.
- Where to buy? The truth is that a frying pan can be bought in many places: hardware stores, neighborhood stores, specialty kitchen stores, large stores, online … It depends a little on the shops you have access to in your town and if you need to “touch” the product before you buy it. For example, in Rechupete recipes we find it very convenient to buy on Amazon but we also like to “see and touch” when we go to buy more expensive products.
- Where NOT to buy? Never buy frying pans in a bazaar or hardware store if they do not have labels , because they lack the traceability that proves where that frying pan comes from, who made it and in what condition. There are non-stick pans for less than € 10 in these places, but you save at the cost of exposing your food to substances that can be toxic to your body.
Do you want to save? Take care of your pans
It is better to invest a little more money in having good pans and get the savings taking care of them so that they last you longer. Just follow the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions, it doesn’t cost much effort and you will notice the difference.
Normally the basics of pan care are:
- Do not clean them with a scouring pad.
- Do not scratch them with metal utensils. At home we have many silicone and wooden utensils and our pans appreciate it.
- Put some protector between the frying pan and the frying pan if you are going to stack them so they don’t scratch.
- Do not pour cold water on them while they are still burning.
Conclusions
So what frying pan should I buy? It all depends on how much you are going to use them, your demands and your budget:
- If your budget is small and you are going to use them little, the best option is undoubtedly Monix MB .
- If, on the other hand, you have a bigger budget and think that you are going to give them a LOT of use, then I would invest in buying the Tefal Aroma ones .
- But my favorite option and the ones I have at home are the BRA Efficient . Precisely because they balance both aspects, they have a lot of quality and a reasonable price.
