If we talk about desserts, rice pudding is, without a doubt, a classic. Although there are few additions that this sweet may need , there is a variant that will make very chocolate lovers happy, rice pudding and chocolate .

The recipe is simple, it is about making a creamy rice pudding smooth and creamy, to which we will add a portion of chocolate. Chocolate will give color and flavor to this dessert making it perfect for children and adults.

Preparation with milk and chocolate

  1. In a saucepan add the whole milk, the cinnamon stick, a strip of orange peel and the rice.
  2. Without stopping stirring, we cook the rice for about 20 minutes. It is important that we keep the medium / low heat to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  3. At this point we will have a kind of thick rice pudding. We remove the orange peel and the cinnamon stick and add the chocolate in ounces.
  4. Without stopping stirring and over low heat, cook the rice 10 more minutes while the chocolate melts.

Final preparation of rice pudding with chocolate

  1. The process in which the chocolate melts and the rice releases all its starch to make it creamy, like a risotto.
  2. When we get the rice to be creamy, keeping in mind that when it cools it will get a little fat.
  3. Add the sugar, mix to integrate for a few minutes and remove from the heat. The sugar is always added at the end so that it does not stick, it will also fatten the cream a little.
  4. If you see that it has been a little dense than the traditional one, here you have two options, leave it as we have done or add a little more milk. I leave it to the taste of each house.
  5. We serve the rice pudding and chocolate in individual portions. We will decorate each portion with some orange zest threads.
  6. We let them rest 15 minutes before inserting the spoon … once you start you will not be able to stop.
