How to make a chocolate brownie with orange . Valentine’s Day arrives and at home you can not miss a dessert with chocolate, the chosen one this time is a brownie with hints of orange .

This yeast-free cake is very tasty on the inside and crunchy on the outside, with an intense chocolate flavor that will delight children at home during a snack or at any celebration. Instead of walnuts you can choose another dry fruit, hazelnuts or almonds do very well, and if you want to enhance its orange flavor you can add a splash of orange liqueur. Do not worry if children are going to eat it because the alcohol evaporates in the baking of the cake.

I leave you with a video with the classic brownie , it would be a different recipe but to which you can add the orange zest and the juice of one of them.

The citric flavor combines perfectly with the chocolate, leaving a balanced and different dessert from the classic sweet. I hope you like it and you are encouraged to prepare it at home, delicious, I assure you.

Preparation of the chocolate and orange cake

  1. We grease a baking tray, the one I have is 30×30 cm., It depends on how we want the brownie to be thick, spread with butter and sprinkle with flour
  2. Place the grated or small pieces of chocolate in a bowl with the water, cream and butter in the microwave for 5 minutes on low temperature. As soon as it melts, add the orange juice or orange liqueur.
  3. Sift the flour and baking soda into a bowl and add the sugar. Pour the hot chocolate mixture on top.
  4. Beat well until you get a homogeneous paste and when mixing incorporate the eggs, walnuts and grated oranges.
  5. Pour the mixture on the tray and cook the brownie in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes (as I mentioned in some other recipe, it all depends on the oven, always look with a fork that stays dry …).
  6. We let it cool.
  7. To make the topping, prepare the chocolate, cream, water and butter in a bowl. We introduce it in the micro for 8 minutes at low temperature, then beat the mixture with a fork and finally let it cool.
  8. You have to be careful when removing the chocolate because it will be very hot. I give you a tip, use a glass container resistant to micro. The mixture melts earlier and is easier to clean.
  9. We apply the coverage with a spatula on the cake when it is cold and put in the fridge so that there is a layer of hard chocolate. I hope you like it.
