How to make small glasses of coffee cream and topped with a delicious chantilly cream.
When we get together with friends at home, the fun and enjoyment begin from the moment we consider the menu. I like thinking about what to cook for them as much as enjoying it together.
Whether it is a relaxed meeting, some skewers for a light dinner, or a more elaborate meeting, presentation has an important place among my concerns.
Preparing dishes that are not only good, of course, but that are visually appealing or at least pleasant, is important to me. But there is also another premise that I take into account when choosing the menu for a meeting, simplicity in preparation . It is easy to get complicated with recipes or desserts that end up giving us a lot of work and that complicate the moment instead of making us enjoy it.
That’s why I usually choose simple but effective dishes for everyone to enjoy, even the cook. On the blog you will find several types of desserts in this format, in individual cups or glasses, much easier to make and measure for your guests to enjoy. Examples of a recipe like this, mini tiramisu with hazelnut cream , our mini cheesecakes , chocolate cups with whipped cream , nougat mousse cups , traditional Italian panna cottas or of course, today’s proposal, cups of hazelnut cream. coffee and chantilly .
It is a very simple recipe, with ingredients that we surely all have in the pantry, that we can prepare in advance and with a delicious taste. They are little glasses made up of two types of creams, a chantilly cream and a coffee cream.
Chantilly cream is a variation of whipped cream in which we will use powdered sugar instead of grain sugar, which we will flavor with vanilla essence. And the coffee cream is a simple preparation based on cream cheese and coffee that will acquire texture thanks to a point of gelatin.
As you can see, it’s not anything complicated, quite the opposite, and the result is quite a mouthwatering bite.
Preparation of coffee cream
- We hydrate the gelatin sheet. To do this, we let it soak for 15 minutes in a container with water. We reserve.
- We whip the cream with the mixer . The cream needs to be very cold to obtain an optimal result. It would even be highly advisable that the container itself where we are going to whip the cream has been in the refrigerator beforehand. We reserve it in the refrigerator until it is time to use it.
- In a saucepan we heat the coffee with the sugar (if children are going to drink it, remember that you can make decaffeinated coffee). We stir with a whisk so that the sugar is diluted. When it starts to boil, remove the pot from the heat.
- We add the gelatin sheet that will be fully hydrated and mix well. Add the cream cheese and mix with the coffee until you get a cream without lumps.
- Finally, we add the whipped cream to the mixture. We incorporate delicately. We pour the coffee cream into the containers that we have chosen for the presentation of the dessert. In this case I have used some thin glasses, but you can use the ones you like the most and have at home.
- We keep the containers in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours. What is necessary for the coffee cream to set due to the gelatin.
Preparation of Chantillí cream
- In a tall container, pour the whipping cream or whipping cream and add the vanilla essence. It is very important that the cream is very cold, as well as the container in which we are going to whip it.
- We begin to whip the cream with the mixer. When we see that the cream begins to solidify, we add the icing sugar and continue whipping the cream normally. You can see in the post on how to make Chantillí cream where I explain a little more about this type of whipped cream.
Assembling the coffee and chantilly cream glasses
- We remove the glasses with the coffee cream that we have in the refrigerator. We add to each of them a portion of whipped cream on top of the coffee cream.
- To facilitate the process, we can put the whipped cream in a pastry bag and serve it this way. This way we ensure that we have a more beautiful result and it turned out
- We keep the glasses in the refrigerator until it is time to serve them.
