How to make vanilla cheese cookies.
Making homemade cookies is always a satisfaction, and even more since the little one is at home. He loves cookies and he also loves helping me in the kitchen when it comes to making them.
With this I tell you that making these cookies is very simple, just one hour will be enough to have them ready, so you have no excuse not to cook them.
With basic ingredients we will get some crispy, soft and very rich cookies. Similar in flavor to the classic butter cookies , although here we use cream cheese in their preparation. Gives it a creamier and smoother touch.

If you take a look at the blog, you will discover my unconditional love for cookies. I have already made them of all types and flavors. Among my favorites are the classic cream , oatmeal and chocolate chip or cookie .
I have to make a special mention of the Muscovites , some typical Oviedo cookies, with almonds and chocolate. Since I first tried them, they won me over, so don’t go without cooking them at home.
Delicious and very easy to make, they are ideal for snacking, to accompany a coffee or tea, to have breakfast… or to drink at any time. Another good idea is to put them in a metal box and take them as a gift when you go as a guest somewhere. You will surely succeed with these cheese and vanilla cookies.
Vanilla cheese cookie dough
- We begin by removing the butter from the fridge, so that it takes temperature and softens, we want it to have a “pomade” type texture.
- You can also give a little touch of microwave, at minimum power.
- In a bowl, add the butter, cream cheese and vanilla sugar. We mix well, so that everything is integrated.
- Now we add the flour, little by little and sifting it. You can use a strainer for it. We keep mixing. When the dough is more consistent, we already start working with the hands directly. Until we obtain a homogeneous, smooth and fine dough.
- We cut two rectangular pieces of parchment paper (from the oven). We place the dough in the center of one of them, cover with the other paper.
- First press with your hands, and continue with a rolling pin, stretching the dough to about 2/3 mm. thick.
Baking and final presentation of the cheese and vanilla biscuits
- We remove the top paper, and sprinkle with sugar. Next we roll the dough little by little, forming a curler. We will put it cold, in the bottom of the fridge, for at least 30/40 minutes.
- We preheat the oven. 10 minutes at 200º C.
- After time, we remove the remaining paper and re-roll the dough. We cut the roll into slices (cookies) 2/3 millimeters thick.
- In the oven tray, we place a base of sulfurized paper. We are coating the cookies in sugar, then placing them on the tray.
- We will leave some space between them as they will grow as they bake.
As you can see, some very easy cookies to make at home, which I hope you like as much as we do. They have been so successful that they haven’t lasted long. They are yummy!

Tips for some cheese and vanilla cookies.
- Before starting the recipe, keep in mind that we must remove the butter from the fridge about 20/30 minutes before. We want the texture to be “ointment” type, so that it integrates easily with cream cheese.
- Each oven is a world, so I recommend adapting yours to make these cookies. It is important that they do not get too much direct heat, and thus prevent them from toasting completely. If not they will be hard.
- Vanilla sugar is not a difficult ingredient to come by. In any supermarket you will find it without problem. Another option that may be worth it is the vanilla essence, of which we would add a few drops on the cream cheese, at the beginning of the recipe.
- To keep cookies crispier and longer, it is important that they are completely cold before storing. A metal can that closes well or a glass jar with airtight closure are some of the options that go well for its good conservation. And as for the million dollar question … the answer is YES, they can freeze!
